Moment You Fell In Love With Fitness: I’ve loved sports my whole life. I joined soccer when I was 8 and ended up loving the sport and playing throughout high school. I recently found my love for fitness again and have been very much interested in having this as a hobby and lifestyle again. I have actually been inspired by women on YouTube who do weight training and it reminded me about how I used to love doing that as well. I’m a girl who needs to have variety though so having classes like Cycle House intermingled into my work out routine helps me stay motivated and on track with my fitness goals. Plus I want to help motivate those who follow me on my YouTube channel or blog and show them that no matter what area you are at in your life you can get in the best shape of your life if you put your mind to it!
Mantra That Motivates You: Let your smile change the world but don’t let the world change your smile. It reminds me to be thankful for what I have and that I want to spread my positivity and motivation onto others.
5 Staples In Your Gym Bag:
1. Lip balm – I love the ones from Jack Black, Jouer, or Purlisse
2. Workout gloves – I just have these in case I want to try to do any lifting, calluses are not cute!)
3. Head phones
4. Toothbrush/Toothpaste -This may just be me but I just like to have this on hand pretty much wherever I go. You never know when you may have a last minute meeting or date 😉
5. Water bottle, I mean if I didn’t have a water bottle during a Cycle House class I’d probably die let’s be honest, can you imagine though?! Can’t be going without that!
Favorite Post-Workout Fuel: If I have a hard workout in the day time I like to go to Earth Bar and get a smoothie but if I do my workout at night time I like to make myself quinoa pasta with a lot of veggies just so I don’t get hungry throughout the night. Trader Joe’s has a great quinoa pasta that is lower calorie than others I’ve seen.
You Know You’ve Had A Great Workout When: You already feel a slight soreness after the workout or your legs or arms feel slightly “noodley” haha. But don’t you feel great when you’re sore? It’s like you really had an awesome workout. When my legs aren’t sore after leg day I feel like I didn’t go hard enough and that I need to work them out again.
Tips For Going From Gym To Streets: You can totally get away with wearing black yoga pants with anything. Honestly I’ve even rocked these with strappy heels or pumps. Just make sure to have a cute top with you or if you aren’t able to bring an extra top just make sure you have a versatile top that you could see yourself wearing for both the gym or out to a casual happy hour. (Of course I’d suggest bringing an extra top if you happen to be doing lots of cardio) Add in a light scarf if your top is more plain and needs to be jazzed up.
Favorite Cheat Meal: I’m all about fries, vegan nachos, or vegan pizza. Gimme all the carbs guys ALL the carbs 😉
